A little bit about me…

Hi, I’m Tracie Shippey

It all started with a bout of bad health in my early 40’s. I was constantly tired, had a persistent cough and could barely walk because my knees were so sore. Finally, a clever doctor diagnosed me with Bronchiectasis – a permanent lung condition. Some short-term strong medication and a ‘get back on your feet and get your lungs working again’ plan resulted in my passion for exercise. Fast forward to 2017 and with a change of lifestyle, and a lighter much healthier fitter me, came a change of career as I qualified as a Level 3 Master Personal Trainer which includes, Circuits, Kettlebells, Suspended Movement and Bootcamp instructor qualifications.

I launched ShipShape as I qualified, building a fitness business in my local community in South Devon, and have delivered hundreds of classes since. I always create my own content and every class is unique to me. Tailored to clients’ needs, I’m constantly adapting classes with my participants in mind and a focus on quality of technique over quantity.

I work with my Personal Training clients as individuals – one size does not fit all. Each and everyone of my clients has a different goal; from increased range of motion and mobility to training top flight athletes representing Great Britain who are looking for that extra something to give them the winning edge.

I’m still learning every day, regularly taking new courses to strengthen my knowledge in the ever-changing fitness sector and to keep my classes fresh and engaging. I’ve recently completed my Level 4 Personal Trainer qualification, specialising in Posture and Corrective Exercise. I’ve also recently qualified as a MenoFit™ Instructor which incorporates all things Menopause and Pelvic Floor – a subject close to my heart as I suffer myself.

Have a look around the site, check out the sample timetable and drop me a message with any questions, I’d be happy to talk with you about your fitness needs.
